Chinese Zodiac

The Pig

The pig is the last animal on the Chinese Zodiac. The pig is also known as the boar, since the translation between chinese and english isn't so clear that is why some people call it the year of the pig or the year of the boar. Some of the pig's characteristics are honest, gallant (which means brave or heroic), sturdy, sociable, peace-loving, patient, loyal, hard-working, trusting, sincere, calm, understanding, thoughtful, scrupulous (which means being very diligent, thorough, and extremely attentive to details), passionate, and intelligent. The pig can also be naive, over-reliant, self-indulgent, gullible, fatalistic (which means the acceptance of all things), and materialistic.

Even though you are born in the year of the pig, you may not have these characteristics. These characteristics are based on the pig. In the story of the great race, the pig would have finished earlier except that it stopped to have a little feast and fell asleep afterwards. After it woke up, it quickly finished the race before the cat, which came in thirteenth so the cat did not make the zodiac.

Here are some of the years of the pig:  If you are born in any of these years, you are a pig.
