Chinese Zodiac

The Chinese Zodiac

The Chinese Zodiac is bascially an arrangement that follows the Chinese Calendar relating each year to an animal. There is a 12 year cycle, so that means that there are 12 different animals on the Chinese Zodiac. Also the Chinese calendar follows the lunar calendar, that is the reason why Chinese New Year is not on the 1st of January instead it is either at the end of January or the beginning of February. The animals on the Chinese Zodiac are the rat, the ox, the tiger, the rabbit, the dragon, the snake, the horse, the sheep/ram/goat, the monkey, the rooster, the dog, and the pig/boar.
